3, 2, 1, blast-off…
It’s an age-old question…
How much faster can a car go if you strap rockets to the back of it?
Well, luckily, we’ve got an answer.
Because Warped Perception decided to strap 3 rocket thrusters to the back of the new Tesla Roadster.

And the weirdest thing is that Tesla has promised an array of 10 booster rockets as an optional extra.
Their plan was to dispel the idea that electric vehicles don’t get the same propulsion as an internal combustion engine – but nobody’s quite sure how it’ll all work.
So, Matt Mikka set out to find out how it’ll work…
And there was a noticeable difference – they shaved one second off the 0-60 acceleration time.
Strapping jet engines to the back won’t work for every vehicle, though.
I can’t imagine a 10 tonne HGV would look particularly sporty with three rockets on its trailer…
It’s an interesting solution to a problem we weren’t sure existed, but I think I’ll stick to the standard models without the rockets – for now, at least.
I’m not sure that rockets on the back of a car scream safety-first either… it’s not the type of thing that would give me confidence in the driver.
Well, unless the driver happens to be James Bond, anyway.
