Frequently asked questions
We now have an FAQ list that we hope will help
you answer some of the more common ones.
1. Before you get started
Having a list of your employees is a good place to start. We can supply you with a simple template to import your employee data. We can also supply you with pre-launch comms to help you prepare your staff for the rollout. If you’re looking to migrate away from another supplier we can manage your data migration to get you up and running within a few days. We have a tried & tested launch strategy to help you roll out the programme to ensure you successfully capture all employees who drive.
2. What makes Driving Monitor different?
We are the UK’s only driver risk management company to provide a ‘central system’ for ALL your driver data. This means you can avoid 9 different systems with multiple logins and we also DO NOT use 3rd parties to pull in DVLA data or resell other tools meaning your data is totally safe. By dealing with just one single supplier you avoid data sharing issues and save a lot of time and money in the process freeing your team up to focus on their core roles.
3. Is it possible to get 100% compliance?
Yes. We believe Driving Monitor is the only provider that can reach this Gold Standard. We will show you how to achieve 100% compliance using our 20+ years of experience with drivers.
4. Can I integrate my own Telematics?
Totally. We’ve built an AI-powered telematics data-importer tool using API’s to give you even more power over your Telematics data. The beauty here is that you get to see your driver’s behaviour trends ‘combined’ with all your other data such as DVLA checks, vehicle checks, risk assessments, training, accidents and much more to give you the total compliance risk management that’s not been possible before.
5. Will I get cheaper fleet insurance using Driving Monitor?
Yes. We’ve been working with fleets for over 20 years to help them reduce their annual fleet insurance premiums. We will work with you to improve your fleet risk score and reduce any incidents giving you the power to negotiate lower insurance premiums. Get in touch today to find out more.
6. How are licence checked with the DVLA?
Our robust platform connects directly to the DVLA servers using a secure controlled connection. We are also ISO27001 accredited and operate to the highest security standards. As soon as a Driver enters their licence details you can get the results within seconds. This instant data feed allows you to get the latest licence details so you can feel confident you are covering your legal compliance for employees driving on company business.
7. Can private vehicles be checked for Tax, Insurance & MOT?
Yes. Our systems can automatically check your fleet vehicles and anyone who uses their own private vehicle (grey fleet). Tax, Insurance & MOT are checked giving you peace of mind the vehicle is safe & roadworthy. Any drivers who do not have the correct vehicle insurance (business cover) are notified with guidance on how to upgrade their car insurance.
8. How can I reduce the risk of my drivers?
This is managed via the integrated driver risk management programme. Each driver is risk assessed and continuous checks take place throughout the year. Any risks flagged by the platform then deploy bespoke interventions based on the needs of the specific driver. This way you can be assured all employees are getting the right training to reduce risks and keep your accident rates low. You also benefit from being 100% covered in terms of your legal duty-of-care obligations.
9. Can accidents be managed in the system?
Yes. We can integrate with your 3rd party accident management supplier, as well as allow you to manually upload and enter your own vehicle incidents. This can be done by Drivers or Managers, or by a dedicated monthly accident data feed you can set up. Any incidents then link dynamically to each driver risk profile, giving you a 360º view of all risks with drivers. You can also set up our automated if-then-else logic for dictating what interventions are delivered when certain accident types are recorded.
10. Is the software installed or web-based?
The platform is fully web-enabled meaning there are no requirements to install anything. The platform has been in continuous development for over 20 years, and works on all internet-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets and desktop PCs & Apple Macs.
