Tennessee lady gets interesting surprise when her new driving licence arrives
When’s the last time you had to renew your driving licence? It’s certainly not my favourite past time.
There’s that awkward jaunt to the local print shop for a stranger to capture your grumpiest side…
Or the trip to Sainsbury’s to manically swivel the chair to the right height in one of the last remaining photo booths around…
Or even, if you’re bold enough, that moody selfie with the perfect white background (or hours cropping out your face if you can’t quite get the lighting right).
Nobody enjoys getting their photo taken for a new licence.
Apart from one woman in Tennessee, who was pretty delighted with how hers came out recently.
If you’ve had a look at the pictures, you’ll know the new ID was pretty much perfect.
For a furniture shop, that is.
Thanks to a bizarre clerical error, this lady Jane Dodd ended up with a driving licence where she didn’t just not look her best. She didn’t look like her at all.
Instead, an empty blue chair takes centre stage where her face should be.
Just in case you’re worrying, Dodd didn’t take the matter sitting down. After an unusual call with the issuers she got a new version sent out within days to rectify the error.
Wonder what our Driving Licence Monitor software would make of this ID!
