Sorry officer, I’m late for my wedding…

Speeding is something we all witness every day.

Whether it’s someone flying past in the outside lane of the M40, a car cruising down a residential street at 45mph or someone itching to get past you on a dual carriageway.

But most of the time people don’t have much excuse…

Except for a recent case where traffic police pulled over a man for speeding at 121mph on the M4.

His excuse? He was late for his OWN wedding ceremony.

Yep, somehow he’d managed to get himself into the nightmare of all nightmare scenarios and as he frantically made his way down the motorway, things got a whole lot worse for him.

Wiltshire Police had joked that it’s usually “the bride who is always late” but the groom had some explaining to do after being pulled over in his silver BMW.

I can only imagine the panic going through his head as he sped down the motorway before being pulled over…

But that’s not an excuse for speeding THAT much.

He’s due in court at a later date, but there is some good news…

Because friends and family did collect the groom and he did make the ceremony.

So while he’s probably about to feel the heavy hand of the law, at least he made it to the ceremony and avoided total disaster.

As far as excuses go, it’s one of the best I’ve heard… not that it makes a difference!
