You Can Lead A Horse To Water…
As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink.
Long before cars, vans and HGVs ruled the road, horse and cart was the prominent mode of transport for those who could afford it.
These days, you might catch a few sideways glances if you popped down to the shops in your horse and cart, though.
Well, unless you’re a member of the Amish community, of course.
And it was that exact situation that resulted in a rather odd news story recently…
Because an Amish horse and buggy were stolen from outside a Walmart in Michigan, USA.
Yes, really.

While Grand Theft Auto is more than just a video game, it’s rare that it extends to vehicles powered by literal horsepower.
A witness spotted a woman taking the horse and buggy but luckily local police found it just down the road and both the horse and buggy were returned to their owner.
Thankfully for all involved, nobody was harmed in the incident, and all appears to be well… but it’s not your everyday vehicle story.
The motivation behind the theft isn’t entirely clear, although it does appear to be opportunistic rather than premeditated.
It’s also the latest in what appears to be a common theme of animals running into trouble on the road… although this wasn’t the horse’s fault!
