All the gear and no idea! Millions admit they’ve got no clue what their car insurance covers.
Recent survey findings have revealed how much British drivers know about their car insurance policies, and they make for pretty hilarious reading.
And when I say “how much” I really mean “how little”.
Yes, MoneyExpert.com has unearthed that some 29% wouldn’t know what do to if they had to make an insurance claim after an accident.
One in ten don’t know if they’re insured to drive other vehicles.
And 5%? They don’t even know who they took out their insurance with in the first place.
You’ve got to see it to believe it.
I know we’ve all been using our cars a lot less than normal this year, but some of these numbers are just mind-blowing.
And it’s not like the findings came from a particularly small pool of respondents either, with 2,000 motorists completing the survey.
For me, one of the most disconcerting stats to come out of the research was the fact that 23% don’t shop around for a new provider each year. Instead, they let their car insurance renew without checking they could get the same deal elsewhere. I mean, really?!
Am I the one going mad here or is this absolutely bonkers?
