A Hidden Message Under The Bonnet…
Popping the hood up and taking a look under the bonnet is always an interesting experience.
I still remember the first time my driving instructor got me to do it ready for my driving test…
But I’ve never found anything more than an oil filter that needs changing, washer fluid that needs topping up or an engine that’s on its last legs.
Whereas a woman who popped the bonnet up recently found a hidden message that she seemingly wasn’t supposed to see.
It read “You are fat” and was apparently written when the air filter was changed last year, a message that fellow mechanics have assured her was meant for the next mechanic to work on the vehicle…
By all accounts, it’s a pretty common practice by mechanics and engineers – a gentle ribbing of each other as long as the message is hidden well enough.
It does make me wonder how many hidden messages lie within all of our vehicles…
All things considered, it’s relatively harmless, as long as the customer didn’t think it was aimed at them (which I’ll admit, would be my first thought!).
Although I might have been a bit more creative with the message and alluded to a hidden treasure map, which would pose more questions than answers!
What strange things have you found within your vehicles – any hidden messages or strange objects stashed under the bonnet? Let me know in the comments below…
