Driving Monitor Mock Trial of a Grey Fleet driver

Driving Monitor Mock Trial of a Grey Fleet driver

Mock Trial Courtroom drama to demonstrate how a 'Grey Fleet' serious road accident would be handled in court

Driving Monitor have teamed up with Shoosmiths solicitors to deliver a new Mock Trial event which is being held for 2 days at this year's Safety & Health Expo at the ExCeL in London on 21st & 22nd June.

The live sessions feature a company manager being questioned, a cross-examination and a barrister running through the case, as it would be handled in court.

Delegates get to see 1st hand how a company would be investigated in any serious road accident, and what the HSE would also look for.

Kevin Curtis, Director of Driving Monitor commented This is a great opportunity for Fleet and Health & Safety managers to come and view a real example of how these cases would be handled. We've run this event before at the ExCeL in 2015 and it proved very popular. This year we're focusing on the Grey Fleet driver, and what a company would be expected to do to ensure employee vehicles are safe - even if they do not have any ownership or maintenance of those vehicles. We find in most cases when speaking with new customers that the driver policy for managing Grey Fleet drivers is dealt with differently than say company car drivers. This Mock Trial gives a real insight into the actual best practices a company needs to follow and what check and measures need to be in place to ensure they cover their duty-of-care.

With more and more companies opting to give cash allowances to employees, there's a greater trend towards Grey Fleets and these sessions aim to clear up some of the confusion around what responsibilities fall on the employer, and what the employee must do.

Driving Monitor in conjunction with Shoosmiths are holding this as a 'free to attend event', for more information about getting a free ticket please visit:
