T-Mobile announced a pleasing reduction in the total net costs of incidents amongst their company car drivers.
The total cost of incidents was calculated at £658,000. This dropped to £555,000 in the most recent year.
T-Mobile has partnered with motor fleet risk management experts, Driving Monitor, over the past few years – resulting in annual savings of over £100,000.
The partnership began with a comprehensive assessment by Driving Monitor, evaluating the needs of all T-Mobile employees who drive for company business. Following this, high-risk drivers received targeted on-road training from Driving Monitor’s experienced trainers to improve safety and reduce incidents.
More recently, T-Mobile has integrated Risk Monitor, Driving Monitor’s sophisticated yet user-friendly online driver management tool, further enhancing compliance and streamlining risk management.
Key Benefits of Driving Monitor for T-Mobile:
- Instant DVLA checks keep us informed of any driver issues in real-time.
- Grey Fleet compliance – tax, insurance, and MOT checks – eliminate admin burdens.
- Centralised driver data keeps everything in one place, streamlining operations.
- Line manager visibility allows managers to get key insights into the risk of each driver.
- Besoke setup & lifetime monitoring to ensure risk is managed continuously.
This online tool allows quick and effective risk assessments to be carried out on all drivers, to identify high-risk employees who would benefit from either online, or on-road training. It is envisaged that use of Driving Monitor will help achieve even more cost savings, and more importantly, ensure that driver competency increases and incident rates continue to decline.
Chris Birdsall, Procurement Manager for T-Mobile whose responsibilities include the tendering process said:-
“We set out to see what the market had to offer and then asked a number of providers to present to us based on our requirements. Driving Monitor fully complied with the tender process. Although the standards of all the other applicants was high, Driving Monitor was particularly flexible in its approach. Driving Monitor displayed that they had the experience and knowledge not only to provide now but also develop their services into the future. T-Mobile have great expectations of all its suppliers and we are confident that Driving Monitor will meet and exceed those expectations.”
