Protests hit the UK’s busiest motorway…
Insulate Britain is extending its protests and occupying the M25, the UK’s busiest motorway.
Protests by the environmental group have been in the news for the last few months, with roads around London being blocked in a bid to draw attention to their cause.
The group announced their plans to protest on the M25 earlier this week.
They announced in a statement that they would allow emergency blue light access throughout their protests, following criticism for not doing so previously.

Insulate Britain made three requests in a statement before they began their latest protests:
- That people avoid the M25, or if they do use the motorway, they reduce their speed to 20mph
- Highways England enforces the speed limit to ensure the safety of protesters
- The police refuse to arrest protestors
Insulate Britain’s protests have garnered a mixed response in recent weeks, but the safety of all involved, including drivers, is of paramount importance.
Fleet owners and businesses are being warned to expect delays in and around the M25 in the coming days and weeks, with the group showing no signs of calling off their protests on the UK’s busiest motorway.
With the likelihood of heavy traffic and severe delays during rush hour and busy periods, fleets and drivers are being urged to consider alternative routes.
