A REAL back to the future car is finally here!
It’s every child’s vision of the future: a flying car.
But no need to call Doc Brown or Marty McFly for this one, because a REAL LIFE flying car has taken flight in Slovakia…
Seriously – how cool is that?!
The prototype flying car, known as the AirCar, completed a 35-minute test flight between airports in Nitra and Bratislava, and it’s clocked up 40 hours’ worth of air miles so far.
Fitted with a BMW engine, it even runs on standard petrol you’d fill up with at the forecourt… Imagine rocking up in a flying car to the local BP garage!
It takes a total of two minutes and 15 seconds to transform from a car into aircraft, and it looks EXACTLY like you’d picture.

The AirCar can carry two passengers with a weight limit of 200kg, and reaches a cruising speed of 170 km/h.
Expectations are high for the sector, with experts predicting that the flying car sector could be worth as much as £1 trillion by 2040 – but we’re a little way off that yet.
Developed at a cost of £1.7 million over two years, this is an exciting breakthrough for the sector, as well as sci-fi geeks, kids, and petrolheads.
Questions still remain over certification, and it’s likely to be some time before they’re on the market, but there has LITERALLY been a flying car in the air this week.
What do you think, are flying cars really the future of travel?
